Samuel Mormando is the Director of Technology, Innovation, and Online Learning for the Garnet Valley School District in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Under his leadership, Garnet Valley has become nationally recognized for innovative teaching practices, including its adoption of Open Education Resources, using Amazon’s Alexa as a learning aid for students, and developing a student-centered course design process that allows students to take courses in any one of three formats: traditional face-to-face, online, or blended. 

Sam was recently honored by the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) as the K-12 Innovation Award Winner and has emerged as an innovative leader, speaker, and has contributed to several educational works including Why Our District is Investing in AI, AR, VR, and MR, How We Improved our Blended-Learning Program, There are Not Enough Moonshots Taken in Education, and 5 Tips for Preparing Teachers for New Classroom Tech Tools. He has also consulted for various school districts and Intermediate Units in the area of instructional design and technology and has been a featured presenter at ISTE, TCEA, FETC, and PETE&C. Sam recently earned his doctorate in educational leadership from Widener University.
