One of the fun activities we do with our new teachers is to talk about how quickly technology changes and how sometimes, we mistakenly think the future is so far away. To make this point, we presented our new teacher cohort with the image here.
Make INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN Your Focus This School Year
When reduced to its simplest form, great instruction is the result of great DESIGN and great DELIVERY. Design and delivery go hand in hand; we cannot have one without the other. A well-designed lesson will go nowhere without great delivery, and a well-delivered lesson will inevitably be met with questions and confusion if not well designed.
THE EXTRAORDINARY PACE OF PROGRESS AND INNOVATION
The end is still to be written but the teacher in me says any one lesson can have a huge impact on students; it can inspire them to explore new ideas and topics; it can embolden them to think differently and take risks, and it can encourage them to be active and autonomous learners. Technology has now replaced the need for buildings and bell schedules to reach students.
FUTURE READY STARTS WITH ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY FOR EVERY STUDENT
Becoming a Future Ready School District should begin with access to technology for every student and teacher. Without access to technology, Future Ready is abstract and theoretical.
